Orchesi as a Konzertmeister alternative: an honest comparison
Konzertmeister is a well-known app for the calendar and attendance of music associations. Orchesi does that too, but takes a different route. One price with every feature included, sheet music per part, the association’s instruments, and an app members use without being shown how. Below you’ll see where we differ, including where Konzertmeister is stronger.

Konzertmeister is based in Austria, free for up to 30 members and has attendance statistics. Orchesi is based in the Netherlands, charges one price per active member with every feature included, and adds sheet music per part, instrument management and 10 GB of storage.

With Orchesi you never pay more than €16.95 a month, even with 200 members. Substitutes don’t count. Up to 30 members, Konzertmeister also has a free plan (Basic). If you keep a lot of sheet music, add Konzertmeister’s extra storage. 10 GB costs €4.00 a month.
What a few euros difference really means
With 120 members you pay €7.05 a month more with Orchesi than with Konzertmeister Pro billed monthly. That’s about 70 cents per member per year. If you keep a lot of sheet music, the gap gets even smaller. 10 GB of storage costs €4.00 a month extra with Konzertmeister and is included with Orchesi.
What an app really costs is the board’s time. If members don’t use the app, the board ends up sending texts and emails again, and calling around to fill the sections. An app members actually use saves those evenings.
Why you pay per member
A drum band with 15 members isn’t the same as a wind band with 150. That’s why you pay per active member with Orchesi, and never more than €16.95 a month. A small association pays little, and a large one knows exactly where it stands.
You only pay for members who actually take part. If someone joins or leaves, we calculate it per day. Substitutes don’t count. There are no plans with a member limit either. When your 31st member joins, you pay €0.15 more, not suddenly a pricier plan.

Members use it without being shown how
The board picks the app, but the members have to use it. If that’s a struggle, the board ends up chasing everyone again. That’s why we check everything we build for one thing first: is it still easy? A member only sees their own calendar and their own sheet music, and replies with one tap.
How a member gets started
- Download Orchesi from the App Store or Google Play. No smartphone? It works in the browser too.
- Enter the code you get from the board.
- The board approves your request. Then you see the calendar and your sheet music.
One price, everything included
Orchesi has no plans. Polls, tasks, setlists, recurring rehearsals and substitutes are simply included. You only pay for active members, and never more than €16.95 a month.
Sheet music and instruments
Upload PDFs per part and decide who sees them: one member, a group, a section, or everyone playing a setlist. For the association’s instruments you see who has what on loan, with serial numbers and maintenance. Members report damage themselves in the app. 10 GB of storage is included, enough for a sizable library.
Why Orchesi doesn’t do everything at once
Members have to actually like an app. Otherwise they won’t use it, and the board ends up chasing everyone again. The same goes for the board. A system full of buttons and menus costs more time than it saves.
So we build step by step, and only what associations really need. New features keep coming. With every one, we first check that the app stays as clear as it was before.
